Thank You cards and Halloween

I am really hooked on the pink and teal right now! It's crazy! My husband and I coached our 5 yr old's soccer team this year. We received a very nice surprise from one of the players and another player's mother works at a local bakery so she supplied delicious cupcakes for everyone. I thought it was appropriate to send a thank you card to them.
This is for a little girl...I thought she would love the bird.
And this is for our very talented baking mom!
Want a laugh...
Last evening we took the children to the elementary school for safe trick or treating. Our three year old wanted to be a puppy this year, so we had a costume from a previous year that she could use. However, it was a little snug for her. It is a one piece outfit so it kind of crept up for her. As we were putting it on Alexis told me "It's splitting my butt!" HAHA!
That is classic! I'm sure you'll see a layout in the future with that title!
Have a Happy Halloween!

Halloween treats

We had a family project to create Halloween treats for the girls to hand out in school. We had a great time and it was a prefect opportunity to spend time together.
Look at this mischievous face on Alexis...

Close up of our finished work...

Since Mikayla loves to craft with mommy, she added Halloween tags on hers.

A fun layout and a card

So I actually played hookie yesterday for the first time in a whole lot of months! I just needed a day at home to catch up on some things. I used a lot of my time to craft. It was wonderful! I don't think I'll be waiting several months to do that again!

This card was inspired by the challenge of using stitching on the card. I wanted to create a french knot with ribbon. And so I decided to create apples on a tree. I love how this turned out! My hubby even thought it was extra good!
This was a recipe challenge posted on the Scraptacular boards by Rachael. I am really hooked on the pink and teal together right now! I thought it turned out very "sweet".

Color Challenge

Here is the most recent color challenge...
At first when I seen these colors I did not know what theme I was going to go with. But as soon as I sat down to craft it came to me. CHRISTMAS! I was so into the color combo that I created two different cards.
Here is number 1....
And number 2....

A little ruffle anyone?

I am so happy with the look of this ruffle flower! I think this bright green and pink gift bag will light of the face of a birthday girl in the near future!
The challenge was posted at Moxie Fab World to create a project with some kind of ruffle.
Thanks for the challenge!

Caardvarks...a TALL order

Another challenge sponsored at ....
This called for a TALL card. Being the fall season, I designed around this cute turkey!
Now, I just have to figure out who the lucky recipient will be for this cute Thanksgiving card.

Sketchy Thursday Challenge

Even though it was another busy weekend, I was able to get a few projects finished up late at night. Here was the most recent sketch challenge....
And my layout....
I really wanted to have a picture for the squares and I thought the snowman and tree worked great. I really like the teal and pink again for this layout! Thanks for the challenge, Sketchy Thursdays!

SPCC color challenge #20

Here is the color selection.... {being a Fall lover this is right up my alley}...
And here is my creation. I used the flower idea from Liz Kartchner's blog/post from your preview on Studio 5 tv. She used this flower idea to decorate a plan t-shirt. I adapted it for my sympathy card.

Sketch Challenge

I'm really enjoying working with sketches lately. I must admit in the past I preferred to wing it and decide my layout based on the photos and embellishments. But I am enjoying the idea of putting my own ideas to a sketch idea.
Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge on Sketchy Thursdays blog...
And this is the layout I created....
Although, this photo doesn't represent it well, I really love the teal and pink together! It is a great color pink from the October Afternoon collection.
I'm looking forward to the next sketch!

Christmas Tag Swap

I have been slowly breaking myself into the world of making multiples. This project was for a Christmas tag swap on the Cricut website. This is the first swap I have participated in, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the tags I receive. The first set is for a child inspired group.
I really like the teal color theme. It really makes the red ribbon pop. The sentiment and the cute penguin are from a set of Inkadinkado stamps.
Isn't he the cutest little penguin!
This set is for a theme of blue/white/silver. We had to use at least two of the colors, but I think all three look very elegant together.
I love to curl my flowers and give them a realistic look. The center is embellished with glossy accents and silver glitter. The snowflake swirl and message are on a set of Inkadinkado stamps.
I may just have to create some more for my own gifts this year!

CaRds and WiLdliFe

Ok, so the title is a little "creative" today...I liked the look of the mixed letter styles. Don't mind it. lol
I have appreciation for all wildlife photographers...those creatures just don't like to stand still for the camera! Here is our local friend {which my kids have named Todd - due to The Fox and The Hound}...he was on the run till I got the camera ready. This is our view out the back of our machine shop...makes it appealing to come to work every day!
This is our neighborly Blue Heron. He's seen a lot more often than "Todd". We have nicknamed him "Pterodactyl". (The really are quite large birds.) Here he is flying over the river....
And then sitting on his rock. Its a little hard to see so I drew a cute arrow.
For my hubbys birthday I wanted to make a card that was masculine. I thought this "worn" look was very masculine.
I used two pieces of 5 by 5 cardboard for the card and attached them together with ribbon and brads.
Mikayla wanted to create a card for uncle Jason's birthday. Here is her creation. Remember she is only 5. I think she did a wonderful job!
Love all the stamps!

Sketch Challenge

What a great weekend! I actually had time to take a nap on Sunday afternoon. That was so awesome!
I thought I would try a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch from sketchythursdays.blogspot.com
And my layout...
I really like this color combo...especially for the winter theme pictures.
More to come...

Daddys Littlest Lady

We have so many soccer events since we have three daughters playing soccer now. Our family spends a lot of time at soccer games and we have to have some pictures of the sideline.

Alexis is usually a trooper about attending her bigger sisters games. She loves to sit with Daddy, but usually he volunteers to flag the sidelines so she doesn't get to sit with him. But, here was a great shot of the two of them.

I don't know if I'm looking forward to having four active daughters playing soccer?!?! We'll figure out the schedule somehow!?!?

Anyone have a teenage daughter with a drivers license for hire?

Color Combo Challenge

I created this card....

I see the Dusty Durango color is not quite the match, but it's close! lol
Thanks for looking!

To model or not to model...

That is the question!
So we have a local photo/modeling location that I met with yesterday to discuss the option of getting Alexis into modeling. I was very impressed with the professional and honest discussion with the representative. She really felt that Alexis was a child that had a shot at this industry.

Joe and I are still talking it over and weighing the pros and cons. We are just not sure yet...

What do you think? Is she modeling material? Any comments?
