Maternity Photo session

Since a wonderful friend at our church {was} pregnant with her first baby, I wanted to take the opportunity to give her a gift of maternity photos and I could have an opportunity to take maternity photos for the first time. I took so many pictures to make sure I got some memorable shots for her and her family. I finally got them saved for her and I wanted to share. And I can wish them congratulations on their baby boy! Their bundle of joy arrived this past Saturday! {I can't wait for the newborn photo session!}
Here are some of my favorites {now I know how difficult it is for photographers to update their blogs with only a few highlights}....
Please leave your comments....I'd love to get opinions from others! Thanks!

Boots and layouts

This is the funniest little story....Last evening I had to take my turn to mow the grass at home {insert big sigh here}....so I gave Mikayla a bowl to collect the few cherry tomatoes that were ready to be pulled. As I was mowing she ran over and asked if her and Alexis could put sneakers on because the weeds were getting their feet {I really dislike weeding and it is very overdue, therefore there is no photo of the tomato plant...lol}. So they took off running to the house and I kept mowing. It seemed like they had forgotten all about picking tomatoes, but low and behold here they came and Alexis was styling her sisters boots! I just cracked up laughing at her! She supposedly couldn't find her sneakers. And please note...these boots do not fit her, they are about 3 sizes too big.

I wish I could have photographed her running out...it was priceless!

A recent sketch challenge at pagemaps.com has a great giveaway for these.....and the sketch is also here....

I used some older photos of the girls from a local carnival we enjoyed together. My favorite part is the balloon and string! How fun is that!
Another layout used a chipboard challenge. I have a large set from Colorbok that included the letters, flowers, and heart. But the limb is just raw chipboard with a little ink.

Sketchy Thursday Challenge

I had quite a night last night....three layouts completed! Yeah!
This is the current sketch challenge from Sketchy Thursday...
I'm not a big fan of double page layouts...so I created a single page based on the sketch. I was really excited about this color combo. I don't use purple often and I think it looks so fun on this layout {in its small amount}.

Hopefully I'll get some more layouts completed tonight!

Design Dollies Sketch challenge

The recent sketch challenge at Design Dollies....
I was so inspired I created two. The first has pictures of Casey from her Spring soccer season. After the photo I noticed that my dot on the i had slipped...that is now fixed...lol.
And since the layout came together so quickly....I created another one. These are Alexis on the sidelines of a soccer game. I love these felt pieces from Fancy Pants....they are so fun!

Scraptacular August Kit layouts

This month Scraptacular has two kits available. I used the Broadwalk/beach theme kit. Of course, it was easy to use beach scene photos with the kit.
A great way to use die cut pieces is to cut them and use on more than one layout. Here I cut the sun die cut and used only half.

You can create every day event layouts with the same kit, too! These photos are from earlier this year when Mikayla was enjoying a beautiful day outside on the porch playing a game of bowling.

I've really been practicing my photography lately and one of my "sessions" with Mikayla went really good. I loved these pictures of her! I'm sure I'll be using them on more projects!
Here I used the same sun die cut, but I cut the second half again, so I now have a third piece to use.

Fun photos from a picnic.

This layout used an older Scraptacular monthly kit.
